3 Week Diet! Get Result In 3 Weeks

I think almost everyone has heard of P90X by now.

When it launched in 2003, it became a home workout phenomenon. The program was created by personal (and celebrity) fitness trainer, Tony Horton.

Why did it become so popular? In my opinion, it stood out among all of the other home fitness workouts that were available.

Not only that but people were getting results. Look at this example video below. Keep in mind this is only one example. There are TONS of them on YouTube:

Although it is an extreme workout, it is still beginner-friendly in the sense that modifications to the exercises are available for those who aren’t quite up to speed fitness-wise. Take a look at the photo below that outlines the standard home gym equipment needed for the program:

As you can see from the photo, you would need a variety of dumbbells, yoga blocks, exercise mat (or yoga mat), push-up bars, pull-up bar, and a chair. If you do not have all of these items, you can still get away with using resistance bands. All of the dumbbell modifications utilize the bands.

Considering how effective a workout P90X is, that is a very minimal home gym which is great because it saves you money. The dumbbells can be purchased used and they are often on sale in many department stores. If you are a bargain shopper, all of those items can be found on sale.

How P90X Has Evolved

The original program is 90 days long and consists of hour-long workouts. The program was promoted using a term called “muscle confusion.” Muscle confusion is supposed to prevent the body from adapting to exercises and promote continual progress without reaching a plateau.

Other P90X programs have been released since then to include P90X2 and P90X3 (30-minute workouts.) The 30-minute workout option of P90X3 was a great idea. Many people complained that the hour workouts were too long.

However, I like the original P90X. The hour went by fast for me because you’re so busy exercising. The hour goes by quick. It is still good to have options. So if you are short on time and like the program, 30-minutes is better than not exercising at all.

Individuals can now become P90X certified in order to teach classes. Depending on where you live, there is probably a P90X class in your area.

Does P90X Still Work?

It absolutely does! The program hasn’t changed except that you can also use the versions that came after it. What is even better is that you can stream all of the programs online when you become a Team Beachbody Club subscriber.

Streaming is an awesome option because you have access to all of the P90X programs as well as all of the other popular Beachbody home fitness programs.

There are many fans of the program and some folks have gone on to do multiple rounds of it to get even better results. I think P90X remains as one of the top home fitness programs available. As with any exercise program, it only works if you put in the effort.
